I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with 17 years of experience across the mental health and community services sector, including 10 years as a social worker, and training in both psychology and social work.
Alongside this, lived experience of mental health recovery and late-identified neurodivergence informs a thoughtful, compassionate, and grounded approach to therapy that considers both internal experience and the broader context of a person’s life.
I have worked in various settings, including with women and children experiencing domestic violence and homelessness, and with children, young people, and their carers in Out of Home Care. I then spent time working in acute public mental health services supporting youth, adults, and their families and carers experiencing complex mental health difficulties, including crisis work, treatment planning, and longer-term therapeutic support.
I have also worked within universities, providing tutoring and support to students studying psychology, social work, and counselling, as well as supervising students on placement.
I now work privately, primarily with women who appear capable on the outside, but are often carrying significant internal distress.
Many come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, perfectionism, overthinking, burnout, people-pleasing, and the ongoing effort of holding everything together. For some, therapy also becomes a space to make sense of patterns linked to ADHD, autistic traits, masking, or chronic overwhelm that may not have been recognised earlier in life.
I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you are used to coping on your own or minimising your own needs.
My approach is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative, with a focus on helping clients understand themselves more clearly, reduce self-blame, and move towards more sustainable ways of living.
Appointments are provided via telehealth for women in Lismore, the Northern Rivers, and across Australia.
